Amy & Jane designed this blissful retreat to help you re-energize the body, mind, and spirit after a long year and a busy holiday season. We will delve into the practice of Anusara yoga, Pranayama and Meditation as invaluable tools to becoming fuller artisans of life. All classes will take place in an open air, thatch-roofed 'tree house' as gentle ocean breezes pass through. Each morning will include a dynamic yoga class with Amy, deepening your understanding of Anusara Yoga and philosophy. Afternoons will feature a rejuvenating restorative yoga practice with Jane, experiencing the art of ultimate freedom, acceptance and alignment with the Divine. We have reserved only enough spaces for a small intimate group, so there will be much individual attention. All levels welcome.

Amy teaches Anusara Yoga immersions, retreats, teacher trainings, workshops and therapy trainings throughout the USA and internationally. Founded by Amy's teacher, John Friend, Anusara Yoga is an increasingly popular system of hatha yoga which emphasizes "Universal Principles of Alignment", as well as the inherent divinity of all beings.

A student of yoga for almost 20 years, Amy was certified to teach Anusara Yoga by founder, John Friend, and is a leader in the Anusara Yoga community. She has studied hatha yoga, pranayama and yoga therapeutics under the guidance of John Friend for the last 7 years and continues to apprentice and travel with him nationally. Additionally, she has studied closely with with Tantric philosopher and renowned scholar, Dr. Douglas Brooks for the last 6 years. www.wildspirityoga.com

Isla Mujeres is a tropical island located off the coast of the Mayan Riviera, just across the bay from Cancún. Its essence reflects its ancient identity of honoring the Goddess, hence the name, which in Spanish means 'isle of women.

NaBalam, the upscale hotel that hosts our retreat, is located on the island's most pristine white sand beach and is bordered on both sides by the warm crystalline waters of the Caribbean. The hotel sits amidst lush tropical gardens, golden sunshine, and vast skies. NaBalam's beachfront snack bar is the place to be for sunset watching and also provides fresh fruit juices and a variety of Mexican snacks. The gourmet restaurant, Zazil Ha, offers authentic Mayan and vegetarian fusion cuisine served in a peaceful atmosphere.

Accommodations: Accommodations are lovely and spacious, located either on the ocean side or in a quaint cottage amongst lush gardens overlooking the pool. Each room has a porch and hammock to enjoy the breeze.

To get to Isla Mujeres, fly into Cancun, Mexico. Book early if you can. Transportation from airport to hotel can average $20 per person round trip for a group of 4 or more. Cancun Valet, a local shuttle company, provides exceptional service. They can be reached at info@cancunvalet.com. The trip from the airport to Puerto Juarez ( the ferry) is approximately 20 minutes. The ferry ride from Puerto Juarez to Isla Mujeres is approximately 20 minutes. Overall it is quite a pleasant commute! If you are traveling by yourself, or with less than 4 people, a taxi is about $40 one way. For $12 you can take the hotel bus, ride around the hotel zone in Cancun, and be dropped off at the ferry (Puerto Juarez), take a cab to the hotel for $2, or stretch your legs and walk alongside a friendly local with your bags on a bicycle for about ten minutes through the little town to NaBalam, the home of the Jaguar.
